Web Video Production

If you are interested in performing a video search on the Internet, there are several video sharing websites directly related to popular search engines. Those who do not want to search for videos on YouTube can choose a search engine that offers a video sharing site. Fathom SEO can post videos created with our Corporate Video Production Services onto these popular sites:

Google Video

Google Video is a video sharing website affiliated with the search engine Google. Google Video users can upload and perform video web searches free of charge. The home page offers several ways for visitors to locate a video. In the search box at the top of the page, users can search all web videos or those which are only hosted by Google. Different categories are filtered throughout the home page (popular, featured, comedy, music, movie trailers, TV shows, etc.) with pictures and links to videos.

While Google Video offers thousands of video options to its users, it is more limited than other web video production service sites such as YouTube. For instance, if you perform a search for "search engine marketing" in the all videos category, it brings up 13,551 results. On the other hand, if you search through only Google-hosted videos, the results tally 2,500. Also, users must be logged in to upload videos and are limited by only being able to log in to one Google account at a time.

Yahoo! Video

Yahoo! Video is another search engine video sharing site. Like Google Video, Yahoo! has a search box at the top of each page. The top section of the home page offers visitors a look at one featured video that can be played directly on the page and special categories (featured, new, popular and movies). There are also several other featured videos throughout the page.

Yahoo! Video members can add videos as their favorites and create a studio with uploaded videos. Like most video sharing websites, you must be a member to upload a video.

After visitors watch a video, they have the opportunity to save the video, share the video by email, write a review or watch related videos, all of which are located to the right of the screened video.

Yahoo! Video, while offering thousands of featured videos, is not as popular as YouTube or Google Video. It provides users with the same options as the other websites but does not offer a convenient link from the Yahoo! home page that Google does.

MSN Video

Another popular video sharing website is MSN Video. MSN is similar in comparison to Google and Yahoo! Video with a home page built around featured videos. A large video player on the right-hand side of the screen plays all videos on the home page, so users are not forced to go to a separate page for viewing. MSN also provides tabs on the top of the page with various video categories (news, money, sports, celebrity, movies, music, TV, life and autos).

An issue with MSN Video can be the search results. While Google Video provided more than 2,000 results for the term "search engine marketing," MSN only offered one. By adding more videos to their database, MSN could join the other leading search engines in successful video sharing.
