Top Ranking of Targeted Search Terms
Fathom SEO examined the study data and selected 10 of the web sites that appeared to have the most search engine placement and optimization in place. Some of the apparent keywords and search terms were ranking, but most weren't - especially in the coveted Top 10 zone.
Top 10 Search Engine Placement
We've discovered that 73% of search terms on the web sites of U.S. health care sites are not listed in the top 10 for Google, 88% of search terms are not listed in the top 10 for Yahoo!, and 84% of search terms are not listed in the top 10 for MSN. Overall, about 82% of search terms were not found in the top 10 for Google, Yahoo! and MSN.
Top 20 Search Engine Placement
Of the 350 U.S. health care industry sites studied, 70% of their search terms were not found in the top 20 of results in Google, 81% of search terms were not found in the top 20 for Yahoo!, and 79% of search terms were not in the top 20 of results for MSN. Total, 77% of search terms were not found in the top 20 results for Google, Yahoo! and MSN.
Top 30 Search Engine Placement
The conclusions of our SEO report found that 66% of search terms of U.S. health care sites web sites were not found in the top 30 on Google, 79% of search terms were not found in the top 30 for results on Yahoo!, and 75% of search terms were not found in the top 30 on MSN. In total, 74% of search terms from manufacturers sites were not found in the top 30 on Google, Yahoo! and MSN.
