Hi Tom,

I'm generally speaking of Yahoo! having employee's out in our industry to talk not just at conferences. Google has several employee's out in the industry whether it's their own blog like Matt Cutts or in Google Groups and soforth.

Hi Tom,

Tip the hat or laying it on the line. I know that’s a long shot but I believe Google have and are getting better with their search engine by communicating with us and listening to our feedback. Web site owners are getting a good amount of traffic from Yahoo!, but to understand what’s really going on with Yahoo! is a bit vague.

Good points, Fathom. I'm intrigued by the statement:

"send out a few of your Yahooler’s to talk more about optimization for your search engine."

And I'm curious what you mean by this. Are you asking them to tip their hat a bit about what they're looking for? In contrast to Google's semi-closed door policy as to what they value, do you feel a search engine could be effective as a tool for users, rather than spammers, if they showed their philosophy a little bit more?

Just food for thought. It will be interesting to see if Yahoo! and their new direction can do anything to regain their former prominence.
