Spanish Search Engine Optimization
Fathom SEO, a search engine optimization firm, is currently working on creating a Spanish version of our site, to help us reach the ever-growing Hispanic market in the United States. We would also like to optimize American business sites for Spanish terms, to help them reach the Hispanic market as well.We did a lot of research in order to determine how best to optimize and target Spanish-speaking Americans. We studied what would be the best search terms to go after, how the language is used on other similiar competitive sites, and surfed the Internet looking for Spanish search engines and directories in which to submit our new Spanish site. We created a Spanish version of our SiteMap, added a links page to list other related Spanish web sites as resources, and placed an “En Espanol” link at the top of our English homepage, along with an “In English” link on the top of our Spanish homepage.
It is important to find out what keywords and search phrases those surfing the Net using Spanish words are using, and to see how popular those keyword phrases are online.
