I&#039;ve found that you can use a fan page to send a pseudo-message to all of your fans in the form of a note. By posting a note, giving it an attractive photo, and publishing it to your page&#039;s news feed your fans will be able to read the message and interact with it fairly effectively. 

The only problem is that it will get pushed down the list rapidly on your fans&#039; news feed.

Events are also a key difference between groups and fan pages, if a fan page creates an event you can only invite friends of the administrators, not fans directly. With a group you can create an event and invite all of your members.</description>
