Universal Search Got You Down? Cheer Up Frowny Face

The crowd and some panelists at SMX Advanced in Seattle last seemed a little bit dismayed by Universal Search. Ranking results, it seems, will never be the same again.
Is that such a bad thing?

Instead of just complaining that your website ranking is dropping because Google keeps adding other elements to its ranking results, get off your duff and do something about it. Make videos. Invent news. Write books. See what’s happening in your space and make headway where you can.
After all, it’s not like you’re ranking for every search term anyway. Universal Search actually increases your odds of ranking if you’re producing the content Google wants to integrate in its results.
If you want to earn your keep, you’ll put on your thinking cap. If you can’t think of any ideas, do you deserve to rank anyway? It’s your call.
