How Fast Do Search Engines Index Content?

By Jim Kukral | May 3, 2007

Very good question. Search engines like Google rely on producing relevant results. Blog search engines like Google blog search or Technorati rely on producing the most recent results.

So if you did a test to see how fast which engines pick up a unique phrase or word, which one would win? Digital Inspiration has the answer here.

We executed a search for 09 f9 11 02 9d 74 e3 5b d8 41 56 c5 63 56 88 c0 (without quotes) on all major web and blogs search engines and here are the results.

As usual, Google wins hands down. Is it simply because they have more servers and spiders and a bigger index? Ponderous questions to say the least. I wonder if anyone in our search engine forum might have an answer to this?
