President and CEO

Bill Fox

A founder of Fathom SEO, William Fox has spent the past 22 years as a serial entrepreneur, launching several successful businesses. He spent 10 years running a defense contracting manufacturing company, which he founded to lower defense procurement costs on sole-source items. After selling the business, he became involved in several technology-related ventures. He helped start Industry.Net, a pioneering web marketplace for Industry that obtained over 4,000 customers and $30mm in revenues between 1992 and 1997. He then helped build a field sales force for ServiceWare, a leader in the online knowledge management field, which eventually became a public company.

After leaving ServiceWare, Bill founded VendorTech, a rapid-growth company that offered fully integrated buy-side and sell-side web-based software to manufacturers. In 2002, VendorTech completed a successful merger with Fathom IT Solutions, a leading regional provider of web-based application solutions and consulting services for business and government. Bill served as Executive Vice President of Fathom IT, and helped guide the company to becoming one of the premier Microsoft.Net application developers and solution providers in the Great Lakes region.

As a result of Bill developing programs and processes to effectively deliver best-in-class search engine optimization programs, including the development of the SERV - Search Engine Ranking and Visibility program, Fathom SEO became a significant player in this new growth industry, employing many experienced specialists. Formerly one of the strategic business units of the Fathom IT Solutions Company, Fathom SEO became so successful it was spun out to operate as its own entity. Bill guides the marketing, sales, financial and day-to-day operations of the company, working with Mike Murray to ensure that all Fathom SEO programs maintain their relevancy in a constantly evolving business and technology environment.

Bill has won several national and regional awards for his entrepreneurship. He has had several articles and white papers published in numerous business publications regarding the marriage of Internet technologies to business processes such as sales, marketing and supply chain management.

In his spare time, Bill likes to play the drum set in his living room and is actively involved with amateur wrestling - he enjoys following his son Dustin, who wrestles in the Big Ten for Northwestern University.
